I was actually pretty shocked to receive an email at almost midnight the day before one of my new hires was supposed to come in for their second day of work.
The message was professional of course but I was shocked because they only worked on my team for one day.
I actually made his first-day pretty fun, alongside the work, we went and toured a luxury property, had a great lunch, explored some areas, etc.
Alongside the fun though, we also did some role-playing. I think that’s what got to him.
I’ve seen this happen to other people but not necessarily to me.
They take a risk on hiring someone and that person ends on disappointing them in some way
but here’s what this email is really about…it’s about the pressure to perform.
Being a real estate agent is a performance day in and day out.
You have to perform for your clients, broker, leads, other agents, everyone!
You have to step up to the plate and make it happen. Don’t think that just because someone made real estate look cool and easy that this will be a cakewalk for you.
Be ready to perform. Performing can include being uncomfortable. So be prepared to be uncomfortable. Just know though, when you are uncomfortable, you will experience the growth.
There’s probably a decision that you have been thinking about for a while now but you haven’t pulled the trigger on it because you are unsure of the outcome.
You’re uncomfortable taking action.
If you live your life like this, you will never move forward and grow the way you imagine.
I want to challenge you to do the uncomfortable today. Whether it’s making a call, getting a mentor, joining a program, hiring a team member, creating a video, whatever!….just take the risk.
Don’t think about the negative outcome. Always focus on the positive.
Report back to me with greatness
